Job Description:Under the direction of the Registered Nurse,
this position cares for women and newborns. The Labor/Delivery
Scrub Tech uses sterile techniques to prepare surgical suites for
C-Section and tubal ligation cases, prepares delivery tables for
vaginal births, and surgically assists physicians with procedures.
Location: Intermountain Medical Center - Murray, Utah
Department/Unit: Labor and Delivery Entry Rate: $18.12+ depending
on verified experience Shift Details: 36 hours per week Schedule:
Full-time Variable - with a mix of day & night shifts Additional
Details - Days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-calls

in a hospital setting providing patient care for at least one year.
must be scrub trained within 90 days of hire. Job EssentialsEnsures
that the patient room is ready to receive the patient with
equipment/supplies necessary during the labor and delivery process.
May be responsible to ensure that birthing rooms are maintained and
stocked appropriately.Assists patients with bed bath/showering, use
of bed pan and/or using restroom, foley catheter care, and
ambulation.Obtains and documents vital signs of patient and
newborns appropriate before, during and after delivery.Prepares
room for vaginal delivery by preparing and draping the patient and
preparing appropriate equipment including the delivery table, and
assisting the RN.Prepares room for C-Section by preparing the
patient, scrubbing for appropriate procedures, setting up and
passing instruments, completes all instrument, sponge and sharp
counts with RN. Ensures sterility is maintained throughout the
operative procedureUnderstands the plan of care and delivers basic
patient care by collecting and documenting patient data and
reporting patient changes to the RN.May do clerical duties as
assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Current CNA Certification.- and -Basic Life
Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. - or
-Completion of nursing assistant training program (verification of
nursing assistant training program completion required and C.N.A.
certification required within 120 days of hire) and BLS- or
-Completion of a fundamentals of nursing class with a passing grade
within the past two years (official transcript required to verify
completion of class and C.N.A. certification required within 120
days of hire) and BLSPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience as
Labor and Delivery Scrub Tech.Physical Requirements:Ongoing need
for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient
needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and
-Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and
visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as
hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues
quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.-
and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex
and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes
frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care,
accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and
-Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer
patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and
equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and
including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with
transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing
supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and
portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to
navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on
the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary
position for an extended period of time.Location:Intermountain
