This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.What You Will Get to Do:As a Principal/Sr Principal Software Engineer, you will support Sentinel software initiatives and automated test engineering. Responsibilities include:
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug real-time embedded software/system simulation.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission-critical software.
• Ensure program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met.
• Understand and develop in a continuous integration toolchain environment meeting technical and compliance requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and adjudicate software deficiencies.
• Assist a team of software engineers by mentoring, coaching, and providing technical expertise.
• Understand project milestones/timeline and provide accurate reporting metrics.
• Perform trade studies to determine the efficacy of software architecture and design.Basic Qualification:--- Principal Software Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD. (4 additional years in lieu of degree)--- Sr Principal Software Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. (4 additional years in lieu of degree)--- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and within scope, with US Citizenship and an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.--- 5+ Years Experience developing software/writing code/software test in C/C++ AND Python.--- Ability to work well in a team environment.--- Ability to effectively communicate issues and help provide solutions across teams/sites.--- Familiarity with Software development processes.--- Familiarity with Linux and shell commands.--- Familiarity in Object-Oriented Programming languages and/or Scripting languages.--- Familiarity with LabVIEW or similar graphical programming environment.--- Familiarity developing software for a hardware target including custom serial and network data streams.--- Familiarity with Gitlab (or similar) code repository and management.--- Familiarity operating in an Agile environment using any of the Atlassian software tools sets (JIRA, Confluence).Preferred Qualifications:--- Current Security+ Certification.--- Experience with integrating and testing embedded software.--- Experience with data analytics.--- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans, and then execute those plans.--- Ability to effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers.--- Experience with database structures.--- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).--- Experience in test automation tools and procedures.--- Experience in analyzing software requirements and developing software tests.--- Experience with IBM Engineering Test Management (ETM).Salary Range: $95,300 - $142,900Salary Range 2: $118,600 - $178,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
