Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Float Pool ICU
CCU Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shift, 3x12 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: One year of
experience preferred License: State RN license or RN license from a
participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support
(BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke
Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
(PALS) (Required for specific locations) Must-Have: - Nursing
skills and knowledge base specific to specialty - Floating may be
required within designated zones Job Description: - Assume
responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating,
and collaborating with the healthcare team, and the patient/family
to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs - Promote
optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients using the
nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards and
guidelines - Demonstrate personal accountability for
relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values -
Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual
needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical
records - Evaluate patient responses and intervene to ensure
optimal outcomes - Develop and implement patient care plans in
collaboration with the interdisciplinary team - Demonstrate
competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs,
wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and
specimen collection - Advocate and collaborate to protect the
health, safety, and rights of each patient - Provide patient and
family education, assessing learning readiness and effectiveness of
teaching - Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in
care, providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect
for the patient's preferences, values, and needs - Deliver care
with respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human
experience - Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with
nursing board and hospital policy - Use time, personnel, equipment,
and supplies effectively for high-quality, cost-effective patient
care - Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical,
legal, and professional nursing processes - Manage resources and
patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individual
patient and unit needs - Follow standards of care, hospital
policies, and regulatory guidelines in practice - Function
effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering
communication, respect, and shared decision-making - Precept and
mentor new staff or nursing students as needed - Seek ongoing
learning opportunities and continue education for skills and
competence maintenance - Maintain professional records that provide
evidence of competency and lifelong learning - Evaluate personal
integrity and nursing practice in relation to professional
standards and guidelines; take action to achieve evaluation goals -
Demonstrate a commitment to the organization through participation
at hospital and unit-based meetings - Understand the value of
measurement and the importance of continuous quality improvement
data; use quality measures to improve performance and
accountability - Participate in unit-based quality improvement,
evidence-based practice, and research activities - Use healthcare
research findings and evidence to expand clinical knowledge and
enhance role performance
