Job Summary Perform minor repair and general maintenance of
facilities, buildings, and equipment under general supervision;
clean and keep in an orderly condition working areas and washrooms,
premises and grounds of the administrative offices.
Primary Duties
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with
disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Responsible for
the care and maintenance of the building to include minor repairs
of the facilities, sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing
floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment,
furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings;
providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning
lavatories, showers, and restrooms. * Responsible for the care of
the ground to include mowing, weeding, edging, sweeping, snow
removal and raking. * Maintain all Safety Data Sheets and keep them
current. * Ensure boiler is operating as needed. * Ordering,
shipping and receiving of product for various contracts.
Additional Responsibilities * Notify appropriate parties of
received and signed deliveries from vendors and complete necessary
paperwork. * Use various floor equipment to maintain the floors. *
Operate a forklift to move product around the warehouse. * Operate
motorized snow removal equipment. * Complete maintenance duties
using power tools and a ladder. * Assist regional and functional
staff with meeting setup. * Perform other responsibilities as
assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s) * High
school diploma or general educational development (GED) required. *
1 to 2 years related work experience is required. * Experience
working with adults with disabilities preferred. * Valid driver's
license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform
work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good
motor vehicle record (MVR). * Forklift certification required
within 90 days of hire. * Pass and maintain Department of Human
Services background clearance required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to use good judgment and
decision-making skills. * Effective oral and written communication
skills. * Ability to operate equipment such as forklift, truck,
power tools, lawn equipment etc. * Maintenance skills to include
basic electrical, construction, plumbing, painting and vehicle
upkeep. * Ability to communicate with all levels of the
organization in a professional manner. * Proficiency in Microsoft
office skills and the ability to become familiar with corporate
specific programs and software. * Ability to respond effectively to
the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. * Detail-oriented and
able to carry out work with the highest levels of accuracy. * Well
organized and self-directed individual who is a team player. *
Ability to stay on task and complete assigned duties within a
scheduled time frame.
